The Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open created lots of excitement for poker in Florida.

The poker world is full of facts, figures, stats and records. With so many numbers being crunched day in and day out, sometimes it is tough to see what they all add up to. That is why BLUFF brings you some of the more interesting numbers related to the big tournaments, big stories, and big personalities in the poker world. Some are factual, some are fun and some are both.

The Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open in Hollywood, Florida just finished, and by all accounts the series was a resounding success. The Main Event, featuring a $10,000,000 guaranteed prize pool, was easily topped and several other events shattered their guarantees. This week, By the Numbers features highlights the past three weeks of action.

2,384: Entries for the $5,300 Main Event including 1,060 entries on the third and final flight, representing over 44% of the total field. That generated a prize pool of $11,920.000.

$1,745,245: First place prize money in the SHRPO Main Event, won by Blair Hinkle after a dramatic heads-up match against Justin Bonomo. Hinkle, a WSOP bracelet winner, is also known for his huge win in an FTOPS Main Event shortly before Black Friday.

5: Justin Bonomo’s entries in the Main Event. Many players took advantage of the option to re-enter after losing their opening stack. Bonomo needed to finish 63rd or better to make back the $26,500 he spent and he certainly capitalized on the opportunity, finishing second for $1,163,500.

18: Unique players for the debut of the World Poker Tour’s Alpha8 series of six-figure super high roller events. Three players entered a second time – Daniel Alaei, Isaac Haxton and Daniel Perper, but none were among the final four that made the money. Haxton was the chip leader with five remaining, but ended up as the bubble boy.

20: Players earning at least a six-figure cash during the Seminole Hard Rock Poker series. Twelve players broke the $100,000 barrier in the Main Event along with the four who cashed the Alpha8 event. The remaining four players were from Event 7, a $560 buy-in tournament with $1,000,000 guaranteed.

3,617: Entries in the opening event of the SHRPO, a $350 no-limit hold’em tournament, doubling the $500,000 guaranteed prize pool.

17,763: Total entries from the 33 events making up the SHRPO, with buy-ins raging from $125 to $100,000.

21,666 and counting: Views on Youtube for video of Mimi Luu agonizing over her decision on how to play pocket kings.
