Day 4 of the World Poker Tour Borgata Poker Open began with 36 players preparing for a long day on the felt with the schedule requiring the field be trimmed to six players for Day 5. At 3 am Cong Pham bagged up the chip lead with 10.1 million.

Vanessa Selbst enters the final table as second in chips and 7.9 million and behind her is Anthony Zinno with 6.9 million. The top three have quite a big lead on Jeremy Kottler (3.9 million), David Randall (3.5 million) and short stack Eric Fields (3.1 million). All-time female money winner and two-time WSOP bracelet winner Selbst looks to become the first female to win an open WPT championship.

Selbst enters the table as the most experienced and successful player with $7.9 million in earnings while the rest of the table has a combined career earnings of $1.79 million. Selbst also has 11 career tournament wins to their combined one – Fields won a WSOPC ring at the New Orleans stop earlier this year.

The day’s action sent 30 players to rail including Cliff Josephy (9th), Alex Rocha (11th), Dan Heimiller (13th), Raj Vohra (20th), Jake Schwartz (21st) and Matt Glantz (23rd).

The field reached a final table of ten players around 9:30 pm and it would take more than five hours to trim the field to a TV-ready final table of six players. Rocha was eliminated when his flopped set of kings was chased down by Pham’s diamond flush.

Josephy’s played his final hand when he moved in with pocket eights preflop and Fields called with A K. The board ran A K 7 3 5 and Fields’ two pair eliminated Josephy short of the TV table.

It was past 2 am when Richard Tatalovich called all in holding K T to Selbst’s A T. The board ran 6 2 2 7 8 and Selbst’s ace high ended Tatalovich’s night.

Then on the 117th hand of the final table Kottler opened, Dan Howe moved all in, Kottler called with pocket kings and Howe needed an ace with A K. The board ran T 5 2 5 9, Howe was eliminated and play ended for the night.

Cards will be in the air for Day 5 at 3 pm ET and play down to a winner the WPT Champions Cup.
