Day 1B of the World Poker Tour bestbet Bounty Scramble in Jacksonville, Florida drew a field of 265 entries, easily surpassing $1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool. Along with the allure of select players having a $2,500 bounty on their heads, the end of day chip leader would pocket a $5,000 bonus. In one of the last hands of the night, Corey Hochman won the biggest pot of the night to emerge as the chipleader.

The Day 1B field featured 19 players with a bounty on their heads as Marvin Rettenmaier, Mike Sexton, Shawn Cunix, Scotty Nguyen, Allyn Shulman, Blake Bohn, James Calderaro, Lily Killetto were among the bounties collected on Saturday. Darren Elias and Mike Linster were also added to the bounty list, but both were among the departed as well. Andy Frankenberger, Noah Schwartz, Allison Hollander, Sean Winter and Barry Shulman were the only bounties left unclaimed on Day 1B.

Corey Hochman finished the night with a flourish to become the chipleader. Hochman and two other players saw a flop of 9-7-3 as his two opponents put their stacks in the middle. Hochman didn’t mind as he held 9-9 to his opponents 7-7 and 3-3. the board bricked out and Hochman finished play with 324,000 chips ahead of Scott Lushing and Scott Efron.

Notables surviving the day with chips include 2006 WSOP Main Event winner Jamie Gold, BLUFF Player of the Year contender Mike Leah, Christian Harder, Matt Jarvis, Faraz Jaka and the always dangerous Matt Salsberg.

Play resumes at 12 noon Sunday with 170 players remaining out of the starting field of 461 entries, scheduled to play nine levels as they likely finish in the money.
