Daniel “centrfieldr” Lupo Headlines Sunday Majors with Triple Score

WSOP.com offered two massive guaranteed Sunday events in Nevada for the first time this year, showing the strength of that market

This was the first weekend that WSOP.com added satellites to the online schedule, allowing players in both states a chance to win their seats into not only the WSOP Main Event, but also the $5,000,000 Guaranteed Colossus.

There were two themes to follow during this weekend’s online Sunday Major action on the regulated sites of New Jersey and Nevada with the first being the introduction of World Series of Poker satellites to the WSOP.com schedule.

Over the next two months, WSOP.com are running weekend satellites to everything from the $5,000,000 Guaranteed Colossus to the Main Event, with buy-ins ranging from $10 to $200, giving all players a chance at a WSOP seat regardless of their bankroll levels.

The other theme this weekend was repetition, as there were a handful of players that have strung together good stretches of performances notching big results on almost a daily basis over the last few weeks.

Daniel “centrfieldr” Lupo strung those results together in quick succession yesterday, making three Sunday Major final table runs, which could potentially push him into the NJ Online Player of the Year rankings top ten.

New Jersey

partypoker Sunday $50,000 Guaranteed

Buy-In: $200
Players: 313
Prizepool: $57,905

  1. Sveinbinder099 – $10,834

  3. patur – $5,327
  4. SuperiorBrainn – $4,400

  7. ChipWhisperer – $2,605
  8. PokerGuy15 – $2,026
  9. SBlast2711 – $1,447

After coming painfully close to his first Sunday Major title of the year, notching a second place finish in last month’s partypoker/BorgataPoker.com $100,000 Guaranteed event, “Sveinbinder099” finally broke through, beating #TeamKittenPoker‘s “TonyL0c0” heads up for the title and the biggest online score of the weekend.

The win would move “Sveinbinder099″ over the $25,000 mark for 2015 earnings and while this “weekend grinder” might not have the volume of results to compete in the NJ OPOY race, he’s certainly established himself as a threat in the biggest weekly tournaments the New Jersey sites have to offer.

partypoker Sunday $10,000 Guaranteed

  6. PompYouUp77 – $954
  7. lamserg – $795
  8. jjtes – $651
  9. AvonBarkz – $506

This final table was more or less a who’s who of New Jersey Online Player of the Year contenders, as it was stacked with “lamserg” also known as “smaulerg” who leads that list, along with “centrfieldr“, “PocketProfits” and “AvonBarkz” who are all within the top 25.

But, it would be “Royalty“, who only had one online cash in 2015 prior to this event, beating out a stacked final table to earn the biggest score of his career and his first Sunday Major title.

WSOP Sunday $35,000 Guaranteed

  7. DamnFlopLag – $1,372

  9. DrawingDead – $648

It wasn’t a bad weekend for “RUA11” who started his weekend with a $5,000 Guaranteed win for a $2,400 score on Saturday, only to best that finish 24 hours later as he took down WSOP.com’s biggest Sunday Major event for a five figure score.

“RUA11″ wouldn’t stop there though, as he also won an online qualifier to this summer’s WSOP.com’s Online bracelet event putting his weekend haul close to $15,000.

It will certainly be interesting to follow who else from both the New Jersey and Nevada sites will be joining him as online qualifiers to the summer’s lone online bracelet event, as WSOP.com is running weekly satellites to both that event and the Main Event from now until the start of the series.

  7. centrfieldr5 – $511

  9. phatdaddy – $236

sps81087” has been running pretty good in March, as he’s won two WSOP.com $10,000 Guaranteed events over the last two weeks, with the first earning him a $4,400 score for a small $30 buy-in. But, while this Sunday Major victory wouldn’t see him make that kind of return on his investment, it would still bring him another four figure score and bump his month earnings to just under $10,000.

The “OPOY Contender run good” continued as “JayRiv” added to his hot start to 2015 with another Sunday Major final table just days after moving into the top three of the New Jersey Online Poker Player of the Year rankings.

  8. wolfrome48 – $519

The weekend’s best has been left for last as “centrfieldr5” notched three final table finishes with the first two coming in both partypoker and WSOP.com $10,000 Guarantees. He’d finally break through the in 888.com’s “Big Sunday”, adding another Sunday Major title to his online resume.

The online regular has been churning out results at an astonishing pace over the last few weeks and it will be interesting to see how these spectacular Sunday Major final table appearances help his standing in this week’s NJ OPOY rankings update.

WSOP.com Sunday $15,000 Guaranteed

Buy-In: $200

  7. legum – $909

The bigger Nevada Sunday Major would eclipse the $20,000 prize pool mark for the first time since the “$10,000 Guaranteed Sunday Reloader” was added to the schedule and while that event was won by Nevada OPOY contender “butters”, “Castor” would be the states biggest weekend winner, taking home just over $6,000.

Later this week, BLUFF.com will be bringing you an updated version of the 2015 Online Player of the Year rankings as the respective lists for New Jersey and Nevada continue to take a more definitive shape.
