Day 3 of the European PokerStars Tour Deauville Main Event has wrapped up after five levels of action. There were 154 players that returned but just 51 players remain. Leading the field is Shahaf Hadaya after he bagged up 1,237,000 at the end of play.

Hadaya carries a near 200,000 chip lead over Matthieu Herve (1,050,000) and Sam Grafton sits in third place with 985,000. Also moving on to Day 4 are Yury Gulyy, Jason Koon, Salvatore Bonavena and Ionel Anton.

Those that did not survive day includes Day 2 chip leader Andrei Stoenescu, David Ostrom, Pascal LeFrancois, Philippe Boucher, Zimnan Ziyard, Fabrice Soulier, Mathias De Meulder, Steve O’Dwyer, Sandra Naujoks, Freddy Deeb and Vanessa Rousso.

It took two levels of play before the field reached the money bubble. The bubble hand was curious in that it saw three players check their hands all the way down while Said Basri could only hope in the cards. The board ran 8 J 2 7 A and Basri’s K Q didn’t improve while David Susigan’s A 5 took the pot.

Naujoks was eliminated shortly after the bubble burst when she moved all in holding K T with a short stack. Pascal Leyo called with A Q and watched the board run A J 2 J 5. Naujoks was eliminated was the second to last PokerStars Team Pro in the field.

The last Team Pro in the field was Matthias de Meulder and his final hand saw him move in on the river of a 8 K 2 4 3 board. Meulder tabled pocket aces but Enrico Rudelitz turned up pocket eights for a set and eliminated Meulder.

Soulier’s chip stack became alarmingly short as the field shrank to under 100 players. He doubled up a couple of times inside of one orbit but his last hand came when he was all in holding A 5 and Romain Baert tabled pocket tens. The board ran Q 9 J K 6 and the Frenchman was eliminated.

Rousso was eliminated just a few spots away from the money when she three-bet all in from the small blind with pocket queens. Her unknown opponent called holding [Ax] [8x] and paired his ace, sending Rousso to the rail short of the money.
