Father’s Day Weekend Continues Recent Online Poker Trends

WSOP-logo

Another summer weekend and the same trends that New Jersey and Nevada have been seeing have continued, with prize pools and guarantees failing to match up in New Jersey, with numerous overlays.

The complete opposite is happening in Nevada though, as nearly every major event is crushing their guarantees creating massive prize pools and big winners.

The trends of missed guarantees in New Jersey likely wasn’t helped by Father’s Day weekend either, as the state saw some of it’s smallest Sunday Major fields in recent memory.

These trends should continue for the next few weeks as the World Series of Poker enters it’s home stretch, with order being restored come mid-July when the player pool’s in each state return to their normal levels.

There wasn’t a five figure winner in New Jersey this weekend but two players certainly got close thanks to a heads up deal in the partypoker $50,000 Guarantee.

flabbergast” officially took home the win, while “noodles” finished second, with both players making the biggest scores of their online careers.

Also making a deep run was “OWNEDLOLUMAD”, who continues to make big scores after being one of the more successful players during the last pre-summer major online series in April’s New Jersey Championships of Online Poker.

While “seedload” stole the headlines by winning another Sunday Major title, the first few eliminations at the final table almost provided some back-to-back storylines.

mj23style” followed his $50,000 Guaranteed final table with another deep run in the $10,000 Guaranteed event and “Thatgood45″ put himself in a position to win this event for a second week in a row.

Neither of those storylines got much traction, as it was all “seedload”, who took home $2,500 for the win.

Nevada

WSOP.com $15,000 Guaranteed Weekly Sunday

Buy-In: $200
Players: 153
Prizepool: $28,305

  1. Juicebox1 – $7,642
  2. Kody10 – $4,458

  8. GarretUtt – $679
  9. El_Tiburon – $481

The trend of the majority of the players at Nevada final tables earning their biggest career online results, which is most likely attributable to so many out-of-state and out-of-country players joining the Nevada regulars during WSOP season, continued for another weekend.

Helping the guarantees in Nevada continue to crush on a weekly basis, with the original $15,000 guarantee on this event being close to doubled. In the end, “Juicebox1″ was the biggest beneficiary of that bigger prize pool, outlasting just over 150 players to take home close to $8,000.
