Listed: WSOP Players of the Year – How They Got There

Greg Merson stands before the Day 1A field before Main Event play began.

Greg Merson remains the only WSOP Player of the Year to win the Main Event in Las Vegas.

As many already know, Daniel Negreanu became the first person to win the World Series of Poker Player of the Year title on two occasions with his win at the 25,000 Euro WSOP Europe High Roller.

This year was the tenth year that the World Series of Poker has awarded the Player of the Year award, so it’s a good time to look back at how the nine previous winners earned the achievement.
