PokerStars announced the schedule for the 2014 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure taking place at the famed Atlantis Resort in Paradise Island, Bahamas. The event will boast the $100,000 Super High Roller, the $25,000 High Roller and adding punch to schedule will be the $10,300 Main Event with a $10,000,000 guarantee.
The large guarantee is the first of its kind for the PCA – the 2013 event nearly hit that mark with a $9,573,900 prize pool and Dimitar Danchev won the event for $1,859.000. The festival will kick off January 5th and run through the 13th.
“This is the first time we’ve put a guarantee on the Main Event, and we’re hoping the $10 million purse will help smash last year’s field of 987 players,” said David Carrion, Director of Live Operations for the PCA and LAPT. “But it wasn’t just about the Main Event in 2013 – the festival generated more than 6,000 total entries and more than $28 million in prize pools across all events, with over 200 runners in the $25,000 High Roller. With even more ways to win a PCA package this year in online and live qualifiers, we’re predicting the 2014 PCA to be one of the biggest and most accessible ever.”
The Main Event will feature two starting days with no re-entry. The $100,000 Super High Roller will unlimited re-entries and the $25,000 High Roller will have a single re-entry. The full schedule has 39 events ranging from a $100 all the way to six-figure buy-in for the Super High Roller. The $100 event will be new to the PCA and will be a No Limit Hold’em Hyper Turbo Deep Stack with unlimited re-buys and double or quad add-ons event.
Other notable events include a $2,000 Open Face Chinese event with unlimited re-entries, a $1,000 Pot Limit Omaha High only with dealer’s choice of four or five cards, a $1,000 Pot Limit “Big” Omaha Hi-Lo and a $1,000 Women’s event.
