Scott Seiver has the lead with just over 300,000 chips after Day 1 of the 2015 PCA $25,000 High Roller.

The 2015 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure has seen a number of highlights so far, and with just two days left in the festival the $25,000 High Roller is helping to cap things off with a bang.

A tournament that saw a record-breaking 247 entries in 2014 has already broken that record in 2015. Through 10 levels – and with registration still open through the start of Day 2 – there are already 257 entries this time around. There are 197 unique players in the field so far, and with the allowance of a single re-entry, 60 have taken advantage of the opportunity.

Scott Seiver ended Day 1 with the chiplead, and he’s the only player who bagged over 300,000.

There are five other players with over 250,000, however, including Geogios Sotiropoulos – who tanked for more than eight minutes after Barry Hutter put him all in on a K 9 7 2 7 board before the clock was called. Sotiropoulos eventually called with A Q – the nut flush – and took Hutter out of the top spot at the end of the night.

Andre Akkari, Davidi Kitai and Faraz Jaka each ended the night in the top 10, while Jason Mercier, Daniel Negreanu and defending champion Jake Schindler each put together a strong day in their own right.

There won’t be official numbers on field, prizepool and top prize until Tuesday afternoon, but with around 120 players remaining and more likely to join in before Day 2 begins, it’s clear that a long day stands before all those hoping to make this final table.
